Crowns & Bridges

Crowns

Crowns or โ€œcapsโ€ are necessary, when a tooth is lost too much of itโ€™s own tooth structure as a result of decay or trauma and a regular filling will not be adequate to protect the tooth from further fracture or excessive wear. Crowns can also be very effective at correcting malformed or mis-aligned teeth to its more natural form.

All Porcelain Crowns are preferred over traditional porcelain fused to metal type as they, being translucent, allows natural light transmission, which in turn mimics natural teeth.

Furthermore, they minimize the black line that can sometimes form at the gumlinewith the traditional porcelain fused to metal type. At Lifetime Dental we use Zirconia all porcelain crowns extensively-renowned for their strength and beauty.

Crowns are custom made at the dental lab from your unique dental impression. The technician will examine your bite carefully to sculpt the crown to be in perfect harmony with your existing bite and jaw movement. Finally it will be checked for optimal esthetic shape and color to match the rest of your dentition perfectly.

If you think a dental crown may be in your near future, call us today to discuss your needs.

Bridges

Dental bridges are a commonly-used solution for missing teeth. Missing teeth can reduce chewing function, diminish the appearance of a smile and can cause other teeth to drift out of place. Dental bridges containing replacement teeth are anchored into place by healthy teeth on either side of the bridge. Bridges cannot be removed, but need to be checked for wear during regular dental checkups.

Dental bridges containing replacement teeth are cemented to healthy adjacent teeth on either side of the space. Since they are not removable but fixed in place, they are extremely stable and can feel and look like your own natural teeth. You will soon forget they are artificial teeth. And with proper care they can last a long time.
